Lots of Food and Fun

So if you hadn’t already guessed it, yep we went to the foodies festival in Birmingham last week and it was definitely the 2nd best day of the year so far.

The foodies festival is an annual thing, but this was the first time me and Darren had been and after visiting for the first time this year we know for sure we will be going back to visit every year now!

It was a beautiful day. We checked the weather forecast before we left and it did say it was going to rain in the afternoon, but someone somewhere must have been looking after us because the weather was absolutely beautiful for the whole day. So beautiful we even caught a tan!

As soon as you walked in the atmosphere was just so bubbly, everyone was enjoying themselves doing their own thing. Children, teenagers, adults, families and friends. You name it everyone was there. Whether they were eating or drinking, everyone was having an absolute ball.
The only problem is when you first walk in you have no idea where to go first! But we soon knew where to go when we came across a pizza cone stand. The most amazing thing I have ever tasted, I mean I know pizza in general is good but a pizza in a cone is just next level goodness.

They had all sorts of food stands, they had cheese, brownies, pickle, duck, you name it, they had it.

The pizza cone was the favourite savoury dish of the day, but the favourite sweet dish of the day was the CHURROS. Both of us completely love churros, we had an inkling there would be a churros and chocolate stand at the festival but when we saw it for ourselves it was like someone was singing hallelujah above it. Churros, with sugar and cinnamon sprinkles with chocolate sauce. What more could you ask for, it was out of this world.

These were definitely the highlights of my day. The food, the company, the atmosphere and the fun just made this one of the best days I’ve ever had. Now there’s no going back, we are now life time foodies! I already can’t wait for next year. If you haven’t already been to a foodies festival I would definitely recommend it if you are as much as a foodie as we are. It’s not just Birmingham, they do host it in a few places around the UK every year. So definitely get yourself down to one near you when it next comes around.

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend! 🙂

I love food festivals, as I think I would consider myself a huge foodie! We have a HUGE food festival called Heritage Days here in Edmonton, and basically, our largest park is packed with tents from almost every country in the world, giving you a change to sample a taste of different heritages. Just found your blog, and I love your lifestyle posts 🙂 xx

Thank you so much for the fantastic review you gave PizzaCones at Birmingham. It was our first ever trading event and it was fabulous! As you say, great weather, great food and great people. The fact that you have said such positive things about PizzaCones is the olive on top of the margharetta! Thanks again!
