So a week ago today it was Darren’s birthday (he’s my boyfriend just incase you’re new here and are thinking who the heck is that?!) and we always have the best time for his birthday, I didn’t think anything could top last year but this year was just as amazing. 🙂
We recently got our new dining table and chairs delivered to the house, so I thought what better way to start the day then sitting at the table together eating a fry up. Meaning I had to get up extra early to go to shops and get everything I needed for our delicious breakfast. YUM.
Darren really isn’t a morning person so maybe I should have woke him up before I plated up but I wanted it to be a surprise, so when I eventually went to wake him up it took me a lot longer than I had hoped but thankfully the food was still piping hot ready for us to eat.
He was kind of still asleep when he came downstairs to see what I had done with the table but I think he loved the surprise all the same. I bought two balloons the day before so they were in the boot of my car all night until I could get them out the next morning, which I thought looked adorable on the table. Also I wanted the presents to be on show so I put them on the table too, which Darren opened after we had eaten our yummy breakfast.
Of course you can’t have a birthday without a birthday cake, right?! It just wouldn’t be the same. I wanted to wait an hour or so before we went out on the evening to surprise Darren with his cake, we didn’t eat any at this point though because we were going out for food later on.
I would love to say I made this cake myself but unfortunately I did not… shop bought.
Around 8pm we headed to Chiquitos, somewhere we used to go quite a lot when we first started going out and we hadn’t been for a while so I thought it would be a nice trip down memory lane. I kind of hinted to the restaurant that it was Darrens birthday, so we were greeted with sombreros, stick on moustaches and seated in a cosy booth. It was perfect from the start.
We couldn’t decide which desert to have so we ended up sharing the churros and a toffee popcorn brownie, wow it was worth it.. but what happened next was so lovely I could burst with happiness. After they brought out our deserts they were closely followed by the cutest birthday surprise I could have ever wished for Darren to have, I’m so glad I told them it was his birthday.
They surprised Darren with a brownie, a candle and a Happy Birthday message on the plate created with chocolate, all free of charge. I was so happy and thankful for how well Chiquitos treated us last week, it was outstanding customer service and we had an amazing evening.
The little touches just made everything so much more special.
When I’m happy I pose, smile and take so many photos of myself haha! I don’t know why I just like to document how happy and content I am feeling at the time. So that’s why I have added these random photos of myself, just to show my future self how happy I was that Darren had enjoyed his birthday and how perfect the day was with both of us together. 🙂
Here’s to many more birthdays together!
I hope you have the best day & be happy.
Lots of love, Xandra Rose 🙂
