I’d say it’s been a good solid month since I last made an effort and actually went out the house with a full face of makeup on, so being able to take my time with it this weekend felt so good.
I’ve also just bought this new green jumper from New Look, it has to be the comfiest thing I have owned in a while. It has these really cool sleeves too, I’ll definitely be doing a post about it soon.
Anyway I’m rambling now, let’s move on to the whole reason you clicked here in the first place!
I must admit I am pretty obsessed with this makeup look I managed to create with my non “makeup expert” hands, I don’t think it turned out too bad if I’m honest.
With time and a lot of practice, I’m definitely seeing noticeable differences from my previous ‘Face of the Day‘ posts. I’m sure many of you can relate that there is just something so satisfying about being able to create a makeup look that you actually like.
I’m still using my trusty Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation and I’m pretty sure I always will use this. I’ve never had any issues with Rimmel foundations and this stuff has been good to me for the last however many years, so I know I won’t be changing it anytime soon.
The main focus of this look, to me, has to be the eyes. I am so obsessed with them and can’t quite believe that I managed to make them look even a tiny bit cool.
However, I think these bad-boy unicorn brushes definitely had something to do with it.
I noticed there was a little craze going around on Twitter and Instagram with these mermaid and unicorn makeup brushes. So I went onto Amazon and found THESE gorgeous looking brushes for only £5.99 (I think they may have gone up a few pence in price now, but still a fab price!).
They are just perfect, like honestly no joking around here, they are seriously amazing brushes. They are cheap, yet they show no signs of shedding and they are just beautiful to look at.
My beloved Sleek Makeup Eye and Cheek Palette in the colour A Midsummers Dream somehow managed to help me create this certain eyeshadow look.
I wanted to use as little shades as possible, so I managed to only use 2 shades from the palette. You can’t really see the white shade on my arm but I used the white to cover the whole of my lid, then I used the sparkly purple shade on the outer lid and blended it into the crease.
I know this look is far from professional but I’m pretty damn proud with how it turned out.
If there’s anything else you’d like to know about any of the other makeup products I’m wearing, then please do feel free to ask me in the comments.
I hope you have the best day & be happy.
Lots of love, Xandra Rose 🙂
