It’s all about the lighting!
I have briefly mentioned lighting in a past ‘Photography’ post, so this time round I wanted to go into a little more depth about how exactly I edit my Instagram and blog photos.
More often than not I won’t use my studio lighting, I just prefer natural lighting as I personally think it doesn’t make the image look as false.
Although the clocks are due to go back at the end of October, so I will probably have to start using them again but I don’t really mind as long as I manage to get a half decent photo from it.
So the app I use to edit all of my photographs is called ColorStory. I did used to use the VSCO app when I first started blogging but I soon found the variety of filters were much greater on ColorStory and I just find it 100x easier to use, so I have stuck with this well loved app ever since.
For those of you that are interested, the main filter I use from the ‘Essentials’ is called ‘Everyday’ and I absolutely love it. It just automatically brightens the image a little more and adds a lot more contrast too, so if you have ever wondered what my secret filter is… it’s called Everyday.
Apart from the Everyday filter I just tend to up the Exposure and Contrast on my photographs, I like them to look brighter but not so bright that you wash the whole colour palette out and are just left with a white photo that you need to wear sunglasses to see properly, nu uh no thanks.
I really hope this post could be of help to some of you and if you want to know anything else about my photography then please feel free to ask me anything in the comments below!
I hope you have the best day & be happy.
Lots of love, Xandra Rose 🙂
