My very first ‘training for a 10k run‘ update seemed to go down quite well last week, so for those of you who enjoyed it here is my second update that I am hoping you will also enjoy!
So last time I told you I somehow managed to run 4.7K for the first time, this time my best was 4.5k and I know that is a little less but it is the fittest I have felt whilst running so far.
Usually I feel extremely out of breath after 2K but this time I felt fantastic, 3k down and instead of wanting to stop I actually had this massive urge to keep going. So even though it wasn’t as long a run as last time, it felt like a much more healthier one which is what I’m aiming for.
We usually go for a run after work around 6pm and I’m sure you’ve noticed the nights are now getting darker a lot earlier, so I just had to take a picture of this gorgeous sunset during our run.
Now if you follow me on Instagram (xandra_rose_x) you will have already seen this picture from yesterday when me and Darren took a very spontaneous trip to Snowdonia.
When it comes to improving my fitness I don’t just want to run around the block most evenings, I want to be able to do other things like walk a few miles down the road or even up a mountain.
We woke up bright and early at 6am, drove 250 miles in total, walked almost 7.5 miles with a total of nearly 17K steps and got absolutely soaking wet in the process, but all in all we had such a brilliant day and my legs have definitely been feeling the aftermath of our walk this morning.
This is another reason why I love having a Fitbit Alta HR, knowing how many steps and km I have walked on days like this really does spur me on a lot more than it would if I didn’t have one.
We have already planned to go on another walk next weekend, however this time it won’t be a mountain but it is going to be quite “hilly”… anyway I will tell you all about that next week!
I hope you have the best day & be happy.
Lots of love, Xandra Rose 🙂
