I must admit I had never even heard of Wonderland Makeup before I received an email from them asking me if I would like to collaborate and try out some of their makeup products.
After a little bit of research I found out that their aim is to bring high-end, cruelty-free makeup at an affordable price without compromising on the quality of their products, which to me sounds like a miracle considering we usually have to break the bank to purchase high-end makeup.
The first thing I always notice in a product is how photogenic it looks, now I can tell you these were some of the easiest and most enjoyable pieces to photograph. The white packaging just seems to compliment the colours inside so well, making them a joy to photograph.
Out of the three products I definitely find the Studio Finish Primer packaging the most aesthetically pleasing, so for that reason I’m going to talk about this product first.
Usually when the back of a product advises you to “apply a pea-size amount” it turns out you have to use a palm size amount and before you know it half the product has disappeared, whereas with this primer you really do only need to use a “pea-size” amount.
As the saying goes “a little bit goes a long way”.
It is such a lightweight and quick absorbing product, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily and greasy so you can just apply your foundation within seconds of applying the primer.
The Blush I received in the shade Slight Of Pink was a completely new shade on me, as I usually wear a blush with a much pinker pigmentation rather a “Slight Pink” colour, so it was actually quite nice to receive something I wouldn’t have normally chosen myself.
I could tell straight away that this blush was going to be highly pigmented (which it was), but I was very surprised to see that it has a lovely shimmer finish to it and once it is applied to the skin it looks a lot pinker than I had imagined it would, a very natural pink which I now love.
Then last but by no means least we have this extremely cute little Eyeshadow in the shade LA Cocoa, which I knew as soon as I opened it I was going to love.
If you didn’t already know, I’m really into my brown/bronze eyeshadow shades at the moment, so this has been a perfect addition to my ever-growing collection. Like the blush above it is highly pigmented and will easily last all day long, I was a bit worried at first that it may come out as brown as you see it but no, it has a lovely light brown finish with gold undertone.
I just want to say a big thank you to Wonderland for sending me these beautiful products to try, which are now also going to be making quite a few appearances in my daily makeup routine.
I hope you have the best day & be happy.
Lots of love, Xandra Rose 🙂
